The One Piece Card Game community is still buzzing from the explosive finish to 2025, fueled by the runaway success of Premium Booster -The Best- Vol. 2 and Carrying On His Will booster box. These sets sent shockwaves through the market, with premium singles prices soaring and even prompting some Pokémon card collectors to jump ship in pursuit of the new hotness. Many wondered if Bandai could maintain this momentum. The answer, unequivocally, is yes. With the release of OP-14, “The Azure Sea’s Seven,” the game has entered a thrilling new era.
OP-13 fundamentally reshaped the competitive landscape, effectively erasing the previous metagame from history. Now, “The Azure Sea’s Seven” arrives to rebuild, introducing a game-changing element: the first new Leaders capable of directly challenging the formidable presence of Imu (OP13-079) and Ace (OP13-002). This shift promises a dynamic and exciting meta, demanding new deck-building strategies and innovative playstyles. Ace (OP13-002) deck building guide will be essential for players looking to adapt to this evolving environment.
Beyond the strategic shifts, “The Azure Sea’s Seven” marks a significant moment for Western territories. To accelerate the alignment of release schedules with Japan, this set delivers an unprecedented amount of content: all of OP-14, plus half of EB-04, which hasn't even seen a Japanese release yet. This means a greater density of chase cards vying for limited pack slots, intensifying the thrill of the pull and driving up the value of key cards.
So, what are the cards everyone is desperately hoping to pull from this double-stuffed set? Here’s a breakdown of the top 10 cards generating the most buzz:
While Rosinante & Law (EB04-038), Crocodile (OP14-120), Jinbe (EB04-015), Ms. All Sunday (OP14-084), and Nefeltari Vivi (EB04-025) all have compelling arguments, Carrot (EB04-013) takes the top spot thanks to her incredible On Play ability. The potential to double your attacks in a single turn, transforming a balanced game into a decisive victory, is simply too powerful to ignore. Chaining multiple Carrot cards amplifies this effect, though the competitive viability of this strategy remains unproven until EB-04 releases in Japan. Regardless, Carrot (OP08-021) has the potential to elevate decks to a new tier.
Nami (OP14-031) is more than just a visually appealing card featuring the franchise’s beloved character. For a slightly higher resource cost than expected, she rests opponent characters and sets up to five DON!! cards, potentially giving you more opportunities during your opponent's turn. Combined with counter Events and Leader abilities, particularly Monkey.D.Luffy (OP13-001) who thrives on DON!!, Nami can become an unbreakable wall protecting your Straw Hat Crew cards.
The East Blue Saga showcased Zoro’s prowess, but Dracule Mihawk consistently proved his superiority. This dynamic continues in the card game, with the new Dracule Mihawk (OP14-119) effectively countering Zoro-led green decks. By resting this Character with Mihawk’s Leader ability, you can lock down an opponent’s Character and ready DON!!, creating opportunities to boost Tashigi (OP14-029) or deploy counter Events. Even without existing counters, Mihawk can transform any card in your hand into one!
Despite a low Life total, Boa Hancock (OP14-112) is not to be underestimated. Her Trigger effect allows for free Gorgon Sisters drops and extra card draws, while her late-game healing ability sets up your Amazon Lily army for a decisive finish. This card is, quite simply, beautiful.
The alternate-art versions of all seven Leaders from OP-14 are highly sought after. Boa Hancock and Dracule Mihawk are expected to see the most play, but fans of Dofla, Mihawk, Moria, Jinbe, and Law will also be eager to add these stylish cards to their collections.
The alternate-art Event cards in “The Azure Sea’s Seven” boast stunning foil treatments. Ground Death and You'll Frighten Me… are particularly valuable, especially with Boa Hancock (OP14-041) poised to become a meta contender. Expect the alternate-art version of You'll Frighten Me… to command a premium price.
The SP cards from EB-04, while not always competitively dominant, are highly desirable collectibles. Edward Weevil (EB01-023) may be power-crept, but Eustass"Captain"Kid (EB04-039) and Roronoa Zoro (PRB02-006) offer stunning artwork and appeal to fans of these popular characters.
The OP-14 SP cards feature a striking flat background, and are generally stronger than their EB-04 counterparts. Boa Hancock remains a top contender, while Kid & Killer (EB01-003), Dracule Mihawk (OP12-030), Sengoku (OP07-046), Sugar (OP10-065), and Perona (OP06-093) find new homes in various decks.
The Manga Rare Dracule Mihawk (OP14-119) is the centerpiece of the set, a card worthy of the world’s greatest swordsman. Its value far exceeds that of its other versions, guaranteeing envious glances from fellow players.
The quartet of Four Emperors SP cards is complete with the arrival of Silver and Gold Buggy. Given the high value of the previous silver Emperors, Silver Buggy is expected to command a significant price, while Gold Buggy, the rarest card in the set, could easily fetch over a thousand dollars. Trading it in for store credit might be the wisest choice!
Both Crocodile (OP14-120) and Nami (OP14-031) are poised to be highly sought-after cards due to their strategic utility and popularity. Crocodile’s ability to reduce costs combined with Ground Death creates a powerful synergy, while Nami’s DON!! setup potential makes her a valuable asset in Luffy-led decks. Expect their prices to remain elevated as players compete to secure these key cards.
