The captain of the Blackbeard Pirates sucked my wallet into a black hole as I attempted to pull his special print in Legacy of the Master (OP-12). Marshall.D.Teach was the second emperor of the sea to receive the highly collectible Silver and Gold variants across booster sets, and failed to reach the same lofty heights as his Luffy-shaped counterpart. That wouldn't stop him from becoming a top ten card of the year, though. Teach's Gold variant is a frankly stunning piece of cardboard that I've still yet to acquire, holding firm at a shade over $1,000 per copy. If you find one in your booster, be sure to greet him with a healthy "ZEHAHAHAHA!"
#9 Shanks (OP09-004) (SP) (Gold)
Shanks (OP09-004) fared slightly better than his infamous counterpart, which is a little surprising based on that scar on his face. We'll see these two come to blows again someday, and I cannot wait. The card seems to have settled at roughly $1,200 a copy, with a little less breathing time than Teach by releasing in Carrying on His Will (OP-13) set value instead. Somehow, that makes him the fifth most valuable card from that celebratory set, which is frankly ludicrous.
#8 Monkey.D.Luffy (EB02-061) (Manga)
Honestly, I expected this card to go even higher given its playability and the iconic nature of the pose. Monkey.D.Luffy (EB02-061) somehow feels underappreciated at $1,350 per copy, which would explain why it's been on a near-constant rise since October 2025. Manga Rares (also known as Super Alternate Arts) are the pinnacle of One Piece collectibles, and this one is no different. Throw in the first real level up from our main protagonist and you're looking at a card that should age well for many years to come, especially as EB-02 becomes impossible to find.
#7 Sanji (OP06-119) (Manga)
Sanji fanboys must be going berserk that he made the list over Zoro. You gotta take your victories where you can get them. Sanji (OP06-119) became a menace of the constructed format in Monkey.D.Luffy (OP11-040): the deck that dominated the game for most of the year. It's still a must-have piece of top end for that strategy, which should hopefully regain a little ground in the near future. It's also just another Manga Rare rendition of a Straw Hat pirate. Regardless of playability, you can't really go wrong on these. That said, if I never see a copy cheating in a Mihawk again, it'll be entirely too soon.
#6 Monkey.D.Luffy (OP05-119) (SP) (Silver)
Nobody is surprised to see so much of Monkey.D.Luffy on this list. After all, One Piece doesn't function without the captain of the story. Luffy's various Gear 5 artworks have become the most desired cards in One Piece since they began to appear in Wings of the Captain (OP-05) and this installment from A Fist of Divine Speed (OP-11) is no different. Collectors seem to view the Silver variant as "completing the pair" from the set, with the gold versions of each emperor proving much more difficult to find. It's still unquestionably a grail, though. A card doesn't break $1,500 by accident.
#5 Monkey.D.Luffy (OP13-118) (Super Alternate Art)
Luffy would be outta here if this was a game of baseball! Wait. Hang on... The third appearance from the newest Nika is somehow not even his highest appearance in Carrying On His Will (OP-13). Luffy and his brothers featured across multiple different Manga Rares to celebrate the third anniversary of the trading card game, with this version cementing itself as the "base" Manga Luffy. That's just a resounding testament to how absurd OP-13 is. Any other year, a $1,600 card would steal all the spotlights.
#4 Monkey.D.Luffy (OP05-119) (SP) (Gold)
It turns out, all that glitters is gold — and all that's gold is worth a bucket of money. The golden version of Monkey.D.Luffy (OP05-119) was the community choice to settle as the most valuable card of the year, and he would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for that meddling OP-13! It's still my grail, though. I pulled this card from my second box of A Fist of Divine Speed and that memory (and resulting freakout) is worth more than the $2,400 it commands.
#3 Sabo (OP13-120) (Red Super Alternate Art)
You're going to see a recurring theme in these final three cards. Sabo is — for some unholy reason — the least popular of the three brothers, even when enshrouded in the very flames he now carries. Carrying On His Will (OP-13) celebrated three years with one-time red-infused Manga Rares of the trio, which have proven to be the rarest cards of the year uncontested. Sadly for Sabo, he's also the least playable. He'll have to settle for a meager $3,500 per copy.
#2 Portgas.D.Ace (OP13-119) (Red Super Alternate Art)
Portgas.D.Ace (OP13-119) tends to be the second most popular brother in most cases, but it doesn't hurt that the card is also a consideration in Portgas.D.Ace (OP13-002) : one of the most playable leaders in the game today. All of this culminates into an extra $900 per copy of Ace when compared to his cheaper sibling. Have you ever opened a piece of cardboard with recorded sales of over $4,400?! It feels like getting punched through the heart.
#1 Monkey.D.Luffy (OP13-118) (Red Super Alternate Art)
But it always had to be Luffy in the end. There is no king like the future king. It’s not easy for any card to have a confirmed sale of nearly $9,000, but Luffy takes no victims. To many, this version of our protagonist is the most unique and jaw-dropping that we've seen in the entire three years of the one piece card game. While I may prefer the infamous OP-05 Manga variant myself, the market cares not what I think. Red Super Alt-Art Monkey.D.Luffy (OP13-118) isn't just the most expensive one piece card of the year: he's the most expensive one piece card on the TCGplayer marketplace right now.
