The Pokémon Trading Card Game is about to ignite with the arrival of Phantasmal Flames, the second expansion in our new series, promising a fiery finale to 2025. After a slight stumble at the starting line with initial distribution, Ultima Supply is thrilled to see the Pokémon TCG surging forward, embracing the power of Pokémon Mega Evolution Phantasmal Flames. Prepare to be engulfed in a whirlwind of spectral energies and blazing battles as we explore everything you need to know about this hotly anticipated set. Get ready to hunt down some incredible phantasmal flames cards!
Mark your calendars, trainers! The phantasmal flames release date is officially set for November 14th, 2025, worldwide. As of now, we anticipate smooth sailing with no regional delays affecting the launch. For those itching to get their hands on the set early, the Pokémon Phantasmal Flames Pre-Release events will be running from November 1st, 2025, to November 8th, 2025. Head to your local game store, grab a Build & Battle box, and dive into some exciting early access battles. Remember, cards from Phantasmal Flames become legal for competitive play on November 28th, 2025, the second Friday following the set's release.
Phantasmal Flames is heavily inspired by Japan's Inferno X expansion and the MEGA Starter Set products centered around Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diancie ex. While we expect a significant overlap, some adjustments have been made to the Special Illustration Rare and Illustration Rare ratios to ensure everything fits seamlessly within the English set. Keep in mind that details are subject to change until the official release. Current speculation suggests that Oricorio ex will be moved from the main set to become a promo card for the Mega Charizard X ex Ultra-Premium Collection. According to official sources, Phantasmal Flames will feature over 120 cards, with a focus on new Mega Evolution ex Pokémon, including a total of six confirmed in the set. You can also anticipate 10 Trainer cards and over 15 Pokémon and Trainer cards boasting special illustrations.
If the set list aligns with current expectations, prepare to encounter some of the most beloved Pokémon in the franchise. Keep your eyes peeled for these incredible creatures:
This set promises a diverse range of Pokémon to collect and battle with!
When it comes to phantasmal flames chase cards, one Pokémon reigns supreme: Mega Charizard X ex. The iconic Fire/Flying type (but not Dragon-type!) steals the spotlight with a stunning Special Illustration Rare and the breathtaking Mega Hyper Rare. While Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diancie ex are also highly desirable, they are not expected to receive the Mega Hyper Rare treatment, solidifying Mega Charizard X ex as the potential most valuable card in the set. Beyond the Mega Evolution Pokémon, Dawn Trainer Card from Inferno X stands out as a must-have. This powerful Trainer card is poised to be a staple in strategies revolving around Stage 2 Pokémon. As this is Dawn's first appearance on a Trainer card, both high-rarity versions are sure to become sought-after collectibles. Other heavy hitters include Mega Sharpedo ex, Mega Lopunny ex, and the intriguing Rotom ex phantasmal flames, all featuring explosively colorful Special Illustration Rares.
While Phantasmal Flames hasn't immediately dominated the competitive scene in Japan, several cards have the potential to shine as the format evolves. One standout is Moltres inferno x. For just a single Fire Energy, Moltres deals 110 damage to a Pokémon ex, making it an incredibly efficient attacker. This allows Single-Prize decks to potentially one-shot Two-Prize Pokémon, a game-changing advantage. Its compatibility with Gholdengo ex decks, particularly when equipped with a Defiance Band, has made it a popular choice in Japan. Mega Lopunny ex is also finding success in Dragapult ex and Charizard ex decks as a backup attacker, and even alongside Gholdengo ex or Ceruledge ex. Dawn trainer card is another card to watch, proving invaluable in decks focused on Stage 2 Pokémon, making it a worthwhile investment for any serious player. Lastly, Battle Colosseum stadium has proven to be a powerful disruptive force, shutting down key strategies for decks like Dusknoir, Dragapult ex, and Munkidori. Expect Fire decks to counter it with Heat Burner, searchable with Arven, to keep the pressure on.
Phantasmal Flames will be available in a variety of products, including booster box phantasmal flames, Elite Trainer Box sets, blister packs, and mini tins. Keep an eye out for our dedicated Phantasmal Flames buyer's guide here at Ultima Supply in the coming weeks, where we'll break down each product and help you make the best choices for your collection and gameplay needs.
Predicting exact pokemon card prices can be challenging, but based on current trends and the popularity of certain Pokémon, we can make some educated guesses. As mentioned earlier, the Mega Charizard X ex is expected to command a premium, especially the Mega Hyper Rare version. The Special Illustration Rare versions of Mega Gengar ex, Mega Diancie ex, Mega Sharpedo ex, Mega Lopunny ex and Rotom ex phantasmal flames should also hold significant value. The Dawn Trainer card, given its potential competitive impact and collectibility, is another card to watch closely. Common cards featuring Piplup phantasmal flames may also see a bump in price, due to the Pokémon's enduring popularity. As always, market conditions and pull rates will ultimately influence the final pokemon card prices.
Phantasmal Flames promises to be an exciting addition to the Pokémon TCG 2025 lineup. With the return of Pokémon Mega Evolution and the introduction of powerful new cards, this set is sure to be a hit with both collectors and competitive players. Get ready to unleash the spectral fury and add some fiery heat to your collection!
